Acer Swift 7 (2018) initial review: The laptop gets smartphone thin

Now in their CES 2018 press release, they revealed the device will be hitting shelves this month.

Its CES 2018 line-up is unlikely to change that, but you should still skim what's new to see if anything catches your eye.

Apart from the major new announcements, Acer revealed that it is set to sell the Acer Switch 7 Black Edition (SW713-51) in the U.S. at a starting price of $1,699 (approximately Rs. 1,07,500) later this month.

Windows 10 is running the show, as expected, and the laptop will get you up to 10 hours of battery life according to Acer. Its new high-resolution display has been upgraded to 14-inches, and sports a Full HD IPS display, Like our phones, the Swift 7 also features Corning Gorilla Glass, although we hope you never drop this guy. And as laptops become slimmer and more portable by the day, how thin could the world's thinnest laptop possibly be?

Apart from the thinness, the Swift 7 has integrated 4G LTE connectivity which is a rare feature in the laptops. Acer claims the laptop's battery can run for up to 10 hours at a single stretch.

With the help of a built-in Intel XMM modem, the 2018 Swift 7 also comes with LTE connectivity. Memory comes in at 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB of PCIe SSD storage. The lineup will now include options powered by AMD's Ryzen mobile processors and Radeon RX 560 graphics cards. RAM and SSD storage are configurable up to 32GB and 512GB respectively. The previous three generation notebooks have been updated this year. Powered by Windows 10, the new 15-inch laptop is targeted towards mainstream users who enjoy the thrill of gaming with friends, and building their own network of like-minded players.

The new Acer Nitro 5 notebook is aimed only at "casual gamers".
