Has 'Red Dead Redemption 2' finally got an actual release date?

The game is allegedly releasing on June 8th, 2018. However, an online retailer in Denmark may have just spilled the beans. However, when Danish retailer Coolshop puts up a projected release date for Red Dead Redemption 2 (since removed), it becomes newsworthy due to a legitimate leak that occurred in their past.

While it's unknown if Red Dead Redemption 2 will ever make its way to PC since the previous Red Dead game didn't, being skeptical of the release date could save you from heartbreak should Rockstar decide to announce a slightly later date in the coming months. Personally, I'm all for developers taking their time to get it right rather than rushing to meet deadlines. So it can't be ruled entirely that that CoolShop has some information about the title's release. So, for now, treat it as a rumor. However, Coolshop has a history of somewhat accurately leaking Rockstar games' release dates before the dates have been released to the public.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch this Spring on Xbox One and PS4.

The sequel will follows the story of another outlaw, Arthur Morgan, a member of the Dutch van der Linde gang.

It's not uncommon for retailers to use placeholders in their listings but it merits mentioning here that this retailer has previously revealed the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports of Grand Theft Auto 5 before their official announcement.

A couple of days and we'll all be correcting our instinctive datings to 2018, and Spring is a lot closer than you think.

The release date was spotted by Red Dead News on Twitter yesterday, and the subsequent reaction from the Internet caused Coolshop to quietly replace the original release date witwh a nondescript 2018 placeholder.
