Chelsea discussing move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha

The January transfer window is just around the corner meaning clubs are working hard on potential deals so we'll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe.

That has forced them to lay the foundations for a possible Zaha bid, although the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are also thought to be interested in the winger, who only signed a new five-year deal at Selhurst Park in May.

Since returning from an unsuccessful spell at Manchester United three years ago, he's established himself as one of Palace's greatest ever players and his end product has improved dramatically.

Zaha completed a high-profile move to Old Trafford back in 2013 but only made two appearances in the English top flight before leaving.

Zaha's blistering form for Palace this season has lifted them out of the relegation zone into 14th after suffering the worst start in Premier League history, lifting his value up into the £40m bracket.

The favourites for the title have already begun the preliminaries to potentially clinching Zaha, who they view as an alternative to Alexis Sanchez.

Tottenham and Arsenal have previously declared their interest in the Ivory Coast global, with Spurs unable to conclude a deal in the summer.

Writing in the Daily Mirror article, football correspondent John Cross reveals that Chelsea are more likely to wait until the summer transfer window rather than make a move to sign Zaha in January.

However, the newspaper suggests that any move may have to wait until the summer as Palace will do all they can to hang on to the Ivory Coast global in January in order to help their fight for survival.
