Steelers Kicker Chris Boswell Thinks Bengals Player Jumped Offside To Hurt Him

The NFL has suspended two players, one-game apiece for illegal hits delivered in Pittsburgh's 23-20 win over Cincinnait on Monday Night Football.

In wake of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's hit on a defenseless player receiving the same level of punishment, it drove Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to voice his disgruntlement with the league's ruling on the situation, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

In the fourth quarter, JuJu Smith-Schuster hit Vontaze Burfict with a brutal hit to the helmet. He argued that the league was inconsistent to give them equal penalties. But you look at what Gronk did and what JuJu did, they got the same suspension. Both JuJu Smith-Schuster and George Iloka were suspended for their helmet-to-helmet shots - though Iloka's was overturned - which spurred some to ponder what can be done about these risky plays. So we understand that and I think both of us made that clear to the players. Gronkowski was also suspended one game for intentionally falling down on top of Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White and striking him in the back of the head.

Foster, one of Pittsburgh's representatives to the NFL Players Association, called the entire process flawed. "Obviously, we don't like the taunting, the standing over him, things like that".

"There should be a committee of people (discipline) that discuss it as opposed to one guy", Foster said.

"Smith-Schuster, who is barred from the team facility until after the Steelers play Baltimore on Sunday night, responded by tweeting "#FreeJuJu" on Wednesday afternoon. But let me ask all of you, do you think Shaw's intent was to injure Boswell? But, I think trying to be able to keep players free from - especially some of those head injuries that do occur - is a big focal point for the league.
